DirectoryTube - Advertise Yourself

The new directory is up :), click the link above to go there. I've spent most of my time lately on that, changing the layout, adding things, making new images, etc.

I haven't gotten much time to do anything with Infinity, except accept and review links. Right now the focus is mostly on DirectoryTube (clever eh?).


Links at DirectoryTube are $0.99, and so far I've sold 13. So the profit so far is pretty good for day one.


I'm paying my sister $20 to submit DirectoryTube to all of Dan's list too, because I don't feel like going through the 4-day torture of it again.

Almost There

Hey guys,


Well today has gone better than yesterday, lol. I spent basically all of today working on the new directory. The link for it will be up tomorrow, when I announce the grand opening of it :).

I'll be using the same layout as I use in Infinity, but I spent a lot of time tweaking it out tonight. I changed the colors and all the images, and that took a while. I set up all of the stuff in the database (with the help of Derek), so once I put the finishing touches/mods on the layout, it'll be good to go.

Right now, I'll be starting with regular links at $0.99, and featured links at $7.99. They'll probably increase after the first week or two, depending on how many links I'm getting.


No profit again from Infinity...really low hits there today. Got a good chunk of new links (about 60), but no featured. And AdSense on the main page is down until it stops being stupid, so no clicks there.


Alright I have to get back to work on the new site, I'm excited :).

Bad Day

Today was just a bad day...


While trying to set up the new database for the new directory, I ****ed up my mySQL database and ended up deleteing it all. I was trying to add the categories to my directory (installed the directory script fine), and it all just went wrong. Then somehow all the newer categories on Infinity (about 40) erased, so I had to remake those from memory. Thankfully I have Derek by my side (mystickcal.com) as my jedi master who will hopefully help me clean up this mess.


I also tried installing new AdSense ads on Infinity, but AdSense feels like being mean to me tonight also, and nothing is showing up.


So I basically spent today messing everything up.

New Site in the Making

The new site is officially underway. I tweaked out a template a little, made a logo, bought a domain, and the hosting is almost set up. So I'll have some details on that soon :).


Did some more FUN stuff today :


-joined about 5 new forums, posted some threads advertising my directory

-finished Dan's List! whoa baby that took a long time. Now I have to do it for the new directory...ha...ha...ha.

-worked on getting things ready for the new site (much more details coming soon)

-added thumbnail and adsense mods in Infinity

-broke 1000 links!

Well crappy day for profit. Pageviews are increasing, I'm over 1000 links, but no AdSense clicks. I have to change something around, and I'll do that now.

Yesterday I got a decent amount of work done on the site. Fixed up the new layout, I still have to add a couple more mods in though. This is the last day of the "featured link sale". Here's what I did :


-added some mods and fixed everything on the new layout

-kept submitting to Dan's List. I'm on "p" now.

-fixed up my Sabres Blog


New Directory Coming Soon!

I bought a new domain, and made a logo. Once I make sure some things are okay legal wise, I'll start it all up. This will be a paid directory, meaning that you'll have to pay to get on it. I'm not sure if reciprocal links will be free or not. But regular links will not be free. So that'll be a good amount of work, seeing as I'll have to bust my ass to advertise that one now too.

Hey guys,


Sorry I couldn't update last night, yesterday was CRAZY for site stuff. The past two days actually. I've learned a lot, and worked for probably 10-12 hours a day on the site yesterday.

If you visit the site (link here), you'll see that it's a completely new design. New logo, new template, new layout, new mods. This was because I paid $25 to upgrade to the newest version of PHPLD. It's got a lot more features to it, and it had to be done eventually. But the template I had was just for the free version, so I had to switch up everything. I think it looks better though. Ok here's what I've done :


-new layout, talked about that.

-started submitting my directory to EVERY directory on Dan's List. There's a lot, so this has taken up a heck of a lot of my time.

-learned how to put some mods into my site. things like a contact tab, statistics box, etc. I got the mods from the PHPLD forums.

-posted on forums a lot still.

-I registered another domain, but until I figure out some legal issues, I'm going to keep it quiet. no, I'm not making a cocaine directory.

-I made a "3 day event" at Infinity, in which I lowered featured link prices to $2.99. hopefully I get some sales this weekend.

Spent a ton of time online today doing stuff, and that's probably why I feel sick now. As you can see, I redid the layout to this blog. Hopefully you guys think it looks a bit better. Feedback is always appreciated :). Anyways, here's what I did for the site's today


-kept posting on forums.

-joined a couple new forums (the last two posts I did an exchange with a guy. so I joined those forums and posted there).

-re-entered all my AdSense adds with channels. tip : when you make a new add, always make a new channel for it. I neglected to do that the first time. it makes it easier to see where your clicks are coming from.

-spent a considerable amount of time redoing this blog.

-I thought about changing the directory to a paid directory, and making regular links $0.99. but I'm on the review list for Dan's List (at these forums), and you have to be a free directory to get on it. and it brings a lot of traffic in, so I'm going to see if I get put on it.
